Jacky and Janice attended the prestigious Yorkshire Awards that was held at the Hilton Hotel Leeds where they received The Richard Whitley Special Award. This award is for the person / persons who has / have given outstanding inspiration to others within the County.
Sadly due to illness Marie could not attend.
Harry Gration and Christa Ackroyd hosted the awards. Katherine Apanowicz presented the award, sponsored by the Hilton Leeds City Hotel, to the Velcade Three.
As Jacky stated afterwards "we were treated like Royalty by everyone." The hotel management team put us at our ease and we were made to feel just as important as the attending celebrities, if not more so. During the evening we also enjoyed meeting up with and chatting to friends and acquaintances we have met as a result of our campaign. It means so much to us to know we have their strong and continuing support in our endeavours to obtain velcade for all myeloma sufferers. We were so proud to have been nominated but to actually win the award was the icing on the cake at the end of an evening that was so exciting and so special to us and an evening we will never forget.
